About Us

Twelve years ago, I embarked on a new journey: homeschooling my kids. At the time I had two elementary aged kids, a preschooler and a 1 year old. How hard could it be? I spent the summer before asking my homeschooling friends questions, maybe too many questions because they all moved away shortly afterward. So we started with a plan and a nicely painted filing cabinet.
Many years later, I’ve:
  • Added two more kids to the homeschooling crew.
  • Been privileged to care for 4 disabled elderly family members at the same time.
  • Discovered that destiny likes to take your plan and laughs as he starts a dumpster fire with it.
  • Officially graduated one kid from High School, with another to graduate soon.
  • 4 teenagers currently living in the house at one time and the food bill to prove it.
  • Discovered the rollercoaster that ADHD and high functioning autism can cause while you figure everything out, just to have to do it again.
Now, I’d like to share with you my wisdom and humor that I've learned through homeschooling this long. Because it is better to laugh about much of this craziness instead of the stress and tears it can bring if we think about it too hard.

Everyone’s journey down the homeschooling path will be very different, but there will be wisdom, insights and a different perspective that can help you on your journey. It takes a village to raise a child, and that also applies to educating them.
